Opening Letter

Dear Advisors and Delegates,

I am thrilled to welcome you to the inaugural GilMUN conference! Our team - Jamie, Patrick, Zach, James, and I - has worked tirelessly to provide an excellent Model UN experience that aims to help delegates grow into skilled collaborators, public speakers, and leaders in future conferences and other endeavors.

Though GilMUN is a high school conference, our team promises it will feel like anything but. From the issues explored to the quality of the debate provided, we aim to create an experience that will meet all expectations. This year, attendees can look forward to several exciting committees of all sizes and topics to choose from as they work together to find solutions.

We are also extremely honored to be able to bring in the distinguished Chief Justice of the Maryland Supreme Court Matthew J. Fader. Justice Fader has served as the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Maryland since 2022, and has been gracious enough to offer his time and provide some opening words to commence the conference.

I hope to see you all at the opening ceremony in a few short weeks. Until then, I hope you are as enthusiastic as I am, and welcome to GilMUN 2024!
